The purpose of a passive balun is to send a video signal and power through a Cat5e cable, which can be transmitted up to 1000 ft in length. This is great for small offices and home use because you will be cutting out the expense of purchasing heavy coaxial and power cables for the same outcomes. The use of our video baluns is also a great way to keep track of which cable belongs to which camera, so that in case of future alterations, you will only need to switch out a single CAT5e.
